Services We Provide
We currently provide a range of services. Please call reception on 0300 300 1573 to ask for more details.
Here are some of the services we include :
Taking blood samples.
If your Doctor has given you a blood test request form, come along with your form between 8am and 12 noon Mondays to Fridays, and speak to one of our reception staff. Patients are advised to be at the centre by 11:30am to ensure that they will be seen. Please note we cannot offer this service to people under 16 years of age.
GP Requested X-Rays
If your GP has requested an X-ray scan, please contact Queen’s Hospital on 01708 435369 to arrange a time and date and they will tell you whether or not to come to the clinic for your X-ray or else where. If you have booked your X-ray to be done at the polyclinic then simply bring your X-ray form along with you for your appointment and speak to one of the reception staff. If you have not pre-booked your appointment your X-ray will not be performed.
Walk-in clinic and minor injuries
The walk-in centre at Harold Wood will be able to treat illnesses or minor injuries that need to be seen urgently or when you cannot get an appointment with your GP. Staff will have access to facilities such as x-ray that you would usually only expect to see in a hospital. Our doctors, nurses and pharmacists can treat a wide range of conditions from bee stings to broken bones – making it a real alternative to having to visit Accident and Emergency.
If your condition is life threatening or critical however, you should either dial 999 or go straight to A&E.
Registered GP Service
Patients can choose to become a registered patient at the clinic as long as they live in our catchment area. As a registered patient you will have access to the full range of GP services. If you have any questions or wish to register feel free to visit the clinic or call to speak to one of the reception team, or register on this site using our online registration page.
Post Operative Care Clinic
For patients who have recently had surgery in hospital, had a wound treated in A&E or had minor surgery carried out by Havering GPwSI clinic, post operative care is provided at both our Harold Wood and Orchard Village sites providing services including: wound checks, dressing changes, wound packing, removal of sutures and clips and administration of post operative medication. The Post Operative Care Clinic (POCC) is a by appointment only service and has the following criteria:
The Patient must be registered with a Havering GP.
The Patient must be 16 years of age or older.
The Patient must be able to attend the clinic (we cannot arrange for home visits).
We also ask that patients provide their NHS number.
Please note that all new patients must give at least 24 hours notice and if an appointment is required for the first working day (Monday) they should contact the clinic before the weekend.
To make an appointment please call the clinic on 0300 300 1573 and speak to one of the reception team. Available appointments go quickly so you are advised to book early.
Foreign Travel for Registered Patients
Practice nurses are happy to help you with medical aspects of overseas travel: documentation, immunisations, protection against malaria and medical advice. Please check with the nurses about charges for other vaccines.
Please completed your travel vaccination questionnaire ideally 12 weeks before you need to travel and remember to book an appointment with the practice nurse again ideally 12 weeks before departure date.
It is best to make an appointment 12 weeks before your holiday.
We do not routinely provide travel vaccine services for non-registered, walk-in patients.
Each year, in early October, we begin our Flu campaign. We invite patients who are over 65 and those with certain conditions to attend for a vaccination.
